Last fall we enjoyed a magical 4-day getaway to Yosemite. The beautiful fall colors alone deserved a spot on our coffee table. After debating the photo book cover for a bit too long, I made a decision and finished this 8×8 book. I’m kinda in love with how the design turned out…
Each day earned it’s own intro page, telling the story of the day + one landscape image, followed by highlight images from that day.
I think this page might be my favorite though….
Each family member was asked to share their favorite memories from the trip. I love that we have documented both the big memories like “the bear that ran behind our car” and the small ones such as “finding a pair of reading glasses wedged between the couch cushions.”
Mini-vacations such as this one are perfect candidates for a small photo book. The number of photos are manageable, and if you record the memories and stories while they are fresh, you have the makings of a book that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Love your books. We love Yosemite. Sometime I would like to chat with you about designing a book for me!
