Last week, I shared a Father’s Day photo book full of great pictures, an interview, and letters from the kids to dad. If you like the idea of an even more interactive project for dad, you will love this brand new product from one of my favorite companies, Paper Coterie (update: sadly, no longer in business). You gather up 19+ of your favorite photos of Dad, create a book, and once the product is printed, let your kids loose personalizing it.
This book had my name written all over it, from the concept to the design and typography, so I knew I had to give it a try for myself. My book arrived in the mail yesterday and I could not be happier with how it turned out. I chose the 8×8 size of this coilbound book. High quality paper and printing? Check. True to color images? Check. The front has a thick, sturdy plastic cover and the pages have a nice weight to them. They are not glossy so it will be easy for the kids to write and draw on them with their choice of medium. I’m probably a little biased but I think the subject matter also contributed to the overall pleasing aesthetic of the book.
Advance warning, this also reads a little bit like a love letter to my husband. I think he is pretty amazing. If you still want to check out the fun design of this book, here is a quick look at some of the pages my kids are excited to start personalizing…
If you like the idea but don’t have the time or interest in figuring out how to make the book, get in touch as I’d be happy to help.
p.s. this is a secret until June 17!
