“I have the best birthday present ever!”
These words were music to my ears when I delivered this book as a surprise for an upcoming big birthday. As is the case for many of us, digital photos began piling up for this family with the arrival of their digital camera in 2004. Almost 10 years and 2 kids later and this mom was ready to do something about that.
With a big birthday party on the horizon for her husband, she was motivated to create and surprise him with a true family keepsake. The result of our collaboration is a beautiful coffee table book highlighting favorite family memories through the years.
Who could you bless in your life with a gift of curated family memories?

Wow! What a great way to catch up. Just wondering how do you go about selecting and laying out this type of project. Do you stick with chronological order or group similar events, like say holidays together regardless of years.

Thanks Jackie! I always strive to select the best images that tell the story my client is trying to convey. If I can do that with one image, great, other times a grid of images makes more sense. In this case we chose to create a chronological retrospective of their lives together since becoming parents. Because their early years as a family had fewer photos, I grouped them into the section you see in the image above (2004-2007). Photos within those pages were displayed chronologically – it is a lovely way to watch the growth of their family. Starting in 2008, each year got it’s own intro/title pages as there were enough images from each year to support that form of organization.
Here is another multi-year album I created with some different organizational ideas – hope this helps!
