Raise your hand if you’ve been feeling the need to document these unprecedented times? Me too. Luckily, it is that time of year when I embark on my favorite memory keeping project, Week in the Life.
2020 marks my 8th time completing this project. Starting in 2006, I began documenting the tiny details of our daily life for one week, every two years. Although I have consistently completed this project in April or May biennially, I had gotten a bit behind in printing these stories.
Happily, this time at home has given me a chance to catch up on my Week In The Life albums. Over the next few days I will share some favorite details from my 2014, 2016 and 2018 books, with a focus on ideas for documenting your life at home this year.
While the week I record this May will most definitely look VERY different from past years, that is even more of a reason to go all in on this project this year. We will never have a week that will look quite like the one ahead of us. I never thought I would photograph Clorox wipes, toilet paper, masks and wiping down my groceries. But those happen to be the details of life right now.
If you have been feeling the call to document these times, consider this your invitation to join in this effort. Ali Edwards, the creator of this awesome project, will be documenting with her community the week of May 11 (next week!). I am planning to capture the following week. Join the fun and check back this afternoon for my first post in this three-part series (or start with 2014 below)!
