2020 has certainly been a year like no other. In an extraordinary year, many extraordinary acts of kindness have emerged. Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to photograph one such story of ordinary people pivoting to offer essential services to those in need.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, One Life Counseling Center, a mental health organization, quickly added a weekly food distribution service, feeding hundreds of families hit hard by the pandemic.
Volunteers from surrounding communities gather on Friday mornings to set-up and deliver food and other essential supplies. On Thanksgiving alone they distributed 400 turkeys, 250 chickens and 17,000 pounds of food!
Working with this crew always has me walking away with a smile on my face!
