I recently came across an announcement about a photography-based tour of Ireland. When I saw the group would be visiting the Avoca mills it was a great reminder of an unfinished project. Last year, on a 2 week tour of Ireland with family, I fell in love with the Avoca brand. I couldn’t resist the bright colors and fun designs and may or may not have tucked 3-4 new scarves in my luggage. Their store merchandising was incredibly inspiring – everything was masterminded by a highly creative team with real passion and care.
So, before I left, I picked up a handful of Avoca marketing postcards and once home, combined them with various photos I took at the store. And put them in a Ziploc bag in my “someday” project box. Last week felt like the time to open that bag and create some happy inspiration.
This little book reminds me of a great trip, a place that just felt like “home” to my creative senses, and one of the many reasons I love to travel – exposure to and inspiration from new things.
