If there is one thing I’ve learned living in the Bay Area for 25 years it is the importance of layers. My kids have arrived in tank tops after a sunny-and-70-degree day on the peninsula to the grandparents house near Baker Beach in need of parkas one too many times! For this fun headshot session, we utilized these layers to make a variety of images for this HR executive.

Utilizing just two different shirts + a jacket, hat, scarf and sunglasses we were able to create way more than two looks…

This shoot was done five years ago now and while the hat styles have changed, the need for high quality marketing images has increased more than fivefold. Done right, classic images can be used years later, like the lead image above shared on Instagram last month to promote a blog post.
