Kierra and her grandmother arrived at the hospital to manage complications that resulted from Kierra’s end-stage renal failure. She is no stranger to the health care system, having previously undergone brain and pancreatic surgery.

During our time together I learned that Kierra loves to sing and dance. She wanted to know if her pictures would be used for a commercial.  I’d better get to work 😊.

Kamalei and her family relocated to the Bay Area from Hawaii to be near the hospital while waiting for Kamalei’s organ transplant. One of 5 kids, Kamalei is 13 and was clearly adored by her 11 month old little sister.We were joined by two of her friends from the Ronald McDonald house who added a little silliness to our time together!
